After experiencing Computer-Mediated-Communication in a non-academic setting and researching the literature for Computer-Mediated-Communication related to on-line learning,

• I spent one semester taking three on-line courses so that I could experience on-line learning first hand. All my classes were mediated on WebCT. Two were completely on-line with the class meeting face to face only once during the semester. The third had an on-line component with a sister class at NEIU as well as a face-to-face component at Purdue.
• The next semester I took a class on Teaching and Learning at a Distance and learned not only distance theory, but also how to set up my own WebCT minicourse and how to teach over and control 2-way Video equipment.
• I cyber-attended an online conference on Distance Education.
