Oak Shaker Style High Back Rocker Detail

Check out this charming 19th century, high ladder back, shaker style rocker !
  • The bottom slat in the chair back had to be replaced and the rockers had to be reattached (note the older style of inserting the rockers into the legs instead of vice versa).
  • painted with transparent white-wash stain and coated with polyeurathane to preserve the original wood grain and coloration (see closeup pix below)
  • newly woven seat - it came to us with a plywood seat
  • excellent condition

You can click on the pictures to the left to see a larger view - they take a while to load, but the detail is worth it - you can almost run your fingers over the grain of the well-weathered wood!

More detailed pix and information available on request.

When this chair goes off auction, if not sold, it will still be available for purchase in our eBAY store, however not at the discounted price featured here. It should also be available for purchase at flea markets and antique shows that we attend - you can view a schedule of these at Benny's furniture refinishing site.
